Membership
- It has increased but no report due to Bill Jennings excused.
First Vice
- Americanism - Boy Scouts, Los Alamos supports 2 troops and they don't have a contract. Just provide a location. No Equipment is stored there. May cause a conflict due to Trivia Tuesday growing. Will have to meet with scout leaders and trivia team. Will not provide EIN number or space to store equipment but want to provide a space. Still on the table to have 1 troop at Elks and 1 here. Draw a line on host or sponsor or both. Will also need a restructured agreement based on what we will be able and willing to do.
- A 3rd vice needs to be appointed for Americanism. Needs to go to schools and other functions as well.
- 1st official contact for RV hook up was successful. Will need to see what the cost to the post vs the rental. This will be a good number difference in Electric for rental vs mini splits. Bill asked if there is a way to put a meter on the rental locations without costing a lot of money so we can see what is actually being used. Will have Jim ask the electrician if there is a way to meter.
Historian
- SAL had first meeting and installed Vice, Sgt at arms & Adjutant. 57 members 4 out of state. Need contact info for members. Dinner was night before but was a poor turnout. Will need to post SAL reconstituted and meeting moved to 3rd Saturday @ 1 pm. James is not on payroll when cooking for the SAL. Next dinner is 8/9 Cajun style
Bar Manager
- Table discussion on what James is being paid. Stephanie will tell us what minimum wage is. Will need approval to increase.
- Per email, retro pay not interested in paying but will need to be in minutes as for an approval for increase. Right now, he is being paid $12.
- Ron made a Motion to increase to $12.50 but no retro. Second by Bill. Paula said if we don't do the retro, he has the ability to do a grievance.
- Motion amended to retro only if he says wants to go back to March. Joe said we should pay anyway. Ron made a Motion re-amended to pay retro and will be $12.50 going forward. Bill seconded.
- Game Room - Painted. Still needs some trim around the door. Flooring is next. A pool table was bought from the Moose Lodge. Will need to run conduits for lights. Will needs to buy a second light for the new pool table. Doug will reach out to vendors for new light donations.
Unfinished Business

- The "not welcome here at the bar" comment was a joke
- The voting issue and paperwork. We do not have a procedure at 118. If we want to have a procedure will need to have a committee.
- Since he has been doing things as normal there is no violation. The application was given to him by Mary after office. It was addressed to Commander and Adjutant. Can not discipline since there is no procedure.
- Commander thanked committee for doing their due diligence and the recommendation. Will need to amend our by-laws to indicate how delegates are designated.
- Ron made a motion to have the delegate go before the e-board and then that is brought to the general membership for them to be aware where our votes are going as we have 42 votes. Delegate will have the authority to change the vote if the "floor nomination" is better than the original agreed upon vote. The Commander asked if the members on this committee stay on and come up with rules and agreements. Robert will ask the committee and get back to us.
New Business
- Entertainment meeting - 9/1 members appreciation day/game room. Office to buy hamburgers & hotdogs. Pot luck
- 9/6 Band and Dinner - band +1 free meal. $20 per ticket. 8/31 cut off. 5-7, 7-10 music.
- 9/15. Rummage sale. $30 table will man own table 100% keep funds, $20 for post to sell and keep 100%. Offer of venders to come sell as well
- Youth 4-day camp ages 8-12. A little late as the donations needed. Missed camp deadline but we can still donate to help if decided. List of requests and prices provided. Table discussion for next years camp.
- Kim made a motion for all memberships to go through the POS system and then can be moved to the appropriate department. Doug says that is currently happening. Will reaffirm with bartenders. Second by Paula.
- Toy Run - 7/27 for Legion Riders.
Good of the Legion
- Ron asked can we make the bar a no political zone. Including no discussions, national news, no wearing political clothing. Need to amend house rules to indicate these rules.
- Side door is really sticking and needs to be repaired or replaced. Joe will look at it.
